Professional Development Opportunity
The “Rock’n the Classroom” GeoVenture Program is held in August each year!
The Saskatchewan Mining Association (SMA) offers teachers an opportunity to explore the diverse aspects of mining operations throughout the province and their links to the Saskatchewan education curriculum.
GeoVenture includes a ½ day introductory workshop, followed by behind-the-scenes access to leading experts, surface and underground mine tours, & mill tours (potash, uranium, and coal). Free relevant curriculum teaching resources are provided to participants to take back into their classrooms.
The GeoVenture Program is FULLY SPONSORED by the SMA (i.e. all travel, accommodation and meals during the trip) other than a $50 registration fee for selected candidates.
GeoVenture 2025 is expected to take place from August 09-15!
